Everyday EFT - Full Course
Details and Syllabus
("Introduction to EFT" Training)
Live Training with EFT Master Trainers

General Notes About Our Training Syllabus

As a result of over 40 combined years using and teaching EFT, we know what it takes to get the best possible results with EFT, and also how best to help people absorb and apply what we teach.

To make this possible, our trainings have been enhanced beyond the core EFT International Syllabus (the organisation with which we accredit potentially EFT practitioners).

We teach an enhanced syllabus for all our EFT trainings which includes both the EFT International Syllabus and our own EFT Training Syllabus.  You will see these are shown separately below.

The syllabus elements is covered or expanded upon in the provided EFT Level 1 manual. Participants are strongly encouraged to read the extensive manual after the training as it deepens into the material covered but also gives much useful information outside the syllabus.

Note: The EFT Training College reserves the right to make changes to syllabus elements and their order at any time.

Pre-Training Video-Learning Syllabus

Notes

This mandatory part of the syllabus needs to be done before your first ever live EFT training with us, whether this is the "Everyday EFT Tapping Full Course" ("Introduction to EFT") or the full EFT Level 1 training.

Duration: Around 30 minutes to be done in your own time.

EFT International Syllabus

Origins, Background and Efficacy:

Understand the history of EFT, what it is and where it originated. Have familiarity with EFT history in the context of the larger field of Energy Psychology. Be able to share appropriate scientific evidence such as recent studies (see the Science and Research section at EFT International.org).

Building Bridges to EFT:

Explain EFT (i.e., “build bridges” of understanding) to people with various belief systems and backgrounds (e.g., “EFT is like acupuncture without needles”).

The EFT Discovery Statement:

Understand the relevance of the original Discovery Statement to current EFT practice (including the “zzzzt” experience).

Borrowing Benefits:

Understand that Borrowing Benefits is a phenomenon that can occur whenever we tap along with a group, audio, video or live tapping session — one that often manifests as a reduction in emotional intensity or a change in awareness.

Hydration:

Consider that hydration may be important in the EFT interaction (i.e., being dehydrated may make EFT less effective).

Live Training Syllabus

Notes

Duration: 7 hours (taught as one day or two half days).

The content for this course is part of the full EFT Level 1 syllabus so even though it can be taken standalone, it is always done as the first 7 hours (first full day) of the full EFT Level 1 training as it is a prerequisite for it.

EFT International Syllabus

Tapping Basics:

Know how to do the Standard EFT Protocol (including variations) with themselves and others. Explain the difference between the Standard EFT Protocol and additional points and strategies (variations) as introduced by the trainer(s).

The Importance of Measuring and Testing:

Understand the importance of Measuring and Testing (how intrinsic they are to the EFT process), and know how to Measure and Test results from EFT in appropriate and effective ways (e.g., measuring SUDs initially, measuring and testing SUDs after rounds of tapping, asking what level of intensity remains).

Reflecting Your Client’s Exact Words (Introduction to Rapport):

Understand the importance of rapport, what it is, and how to begin utilising it effectively in an EFT session. Use the client’s own exact words in the Standard EFT Protocol and work with the client’s subjective experience at all times.

When EFT Doesn’t Work (Part 1):

Troubleshoot when EFT doesn’t appear to be working and consider (and explore) options to potentially remedy the situation. Recognise if and when EFT may not be the right solution for the person at that time.

The Importance of Being Specific:

Understand the critical importance of dividing a problem into pieces (Aspects) and getting as specific as possible, and how sometimes you need to start globally (or generally) in order to get more specific.

The Concept of Aspects and Shifting Aspects:

Identify and work with all major (intense) Aspects of an issue, recognise, work with and follow Shifting Aspects, and remember that Aspects may remain unaddressed.

The Importance of Persistence:

Understand and communicate the importance of being persistent when doing EFT for self and others.

The EFT Training College Additional Syllabus

Psychological Reversals:

Understand the resistances and secondary gains that can get in the way of making progress, and find how to identify and neutralise the exact block.

Chasing the Pain:

Understand the process of following emotions, body sensations and feelings around the body as they are released, knowing they represent different aspects of the problem.

Resonance Testing:

Addendum to the “Exact Words” syllabus element earlier. Understand the power of stating words out aloud (or in the mind) to activate and realise emotions, feelings and sensations in the body, as well as verbalising belief statements to determine subjective truth levels. This thereby shows the importance of using the client’s exact words, these being gateways into what the body is holding as real or “true” (even if logically it doesn’t make sense).

Handling Strong Emotions and Abreactions:

Learn how to handle very strong emotions as well as what to do in the very rare case of an abreaction – where a client experiences a past traumatic memory in a way where it feels like they are experiencing it now. This is something the Safe and Comfortable Strategy (see later) has been created for - to minimise the likelihood of this happening.

Generic application of EFT:

Learn how to use EFT in a generic fashion for stress, overwhelm and tension and any other upset and discomfort.

Using EFT Daily To Feel Good Right Now:

Learn the power of using EFT daily to maintain inner peace, calm and cultivate positive feelings like joy, creativity, resilience, and anything else you would like to feel more of each day.

Using Fictional Movie and TV scenes for Healing:

Learn and practice how scenes from fictional movie and tv programmes can be used both to practice EFT (as is done in the training) but also as a therapeutic technique to make progress with issues.

Multiple EFT Tapping Practice Sessions:

Across the training experience we use EFT many times both as self-tapping and also within small practice groups. This helps to get the process into muscle memory so you can leave the course feeling confident to apply it on anything in your life you would like to feel better about.
